Hasira "Soul" Ashemu

Hasira Ashemu, widely known as H-Soul, is a keynote speaker, performance coach, author, and strategist whose work focuses on personal transformation, cultural healing, and social change. Ashemu draws on extensive experience in social and cultural movements to address leaders seeking to create meaningful change in society and culture. His name, Hasira, translates to "righteous rage," a concept central to his mission of transforming anger from racism and oppression into political consciousness, healing, and social justice.

Ashemu is the author of "To Heal a People," which explores Afro-Indigenous healing practices, and "The Thrival Code." He is the founder of TruNorth Institute, a social enterprise that brings together facilitators, educators, and human development experts to implement transformative mindset and behavior change tools. Through initiatives like MindForge Technology and the MindForge Immersive Experience, Ashemu partners with communities, industries, and organizations to foster deep, subconscious change.

Ashemu has engaged thousands through keynote speaking, executive and community coaching, and facilitating learning journeys at individual, community, national, and international levels. He has collaborated with nonprofits, corporations, governmental agencies, and public institutions across the United States and several African nations. His work addresses topics such as culture, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), health and wellness, leadership, mental health, motivational speaking, and spirituality, with a focus on shifting mindsets from survival to thrival in both personal and organizational contexts.

Personal resilience is a cornerstone of Ashemu’s work. After overcoming cancer, he established an institute for Afro-Indigenous healing and justice, drawing from his own journey and the healing practices he acquired. He spent a decade in Ghana, raising his family and connecting with Afro-Indigenous wisdom and spirituality, which informs his coaching and speaking.

As Chief Visionary Officer of the Righteous RAGE Institute for Social Justice at the University of Denver, Ashemu supports the BIPOC community in decolonizing minds and systems to address oppression. He also serves as executive director of Breaking Our Chains, an organization focused on dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline. Ashemu has received honors such as the Urban Leadership Foundation's Wellington and Wilma Webb Leadership and Legacy Award, and continues to provide frameworks for healing, growth, and sustainable change in the fields of social justice, leadership development, and cultural transformation.
